High 1 Resort, czyli Zakopane po koreańsku / High 1 Resort - Korean Aspen

Położony w Jeongseon, w prowincji Gangwon, High 1 Resort jest świetnym miejscem na relaks, oderwanie się od wariacji dnia codziennego, ścisku w metrze, wycia klaksonów i wiecznej gonitwy „za czymś”. 
High 1 Resort in Jeongseon, Gangwon province is a wonderful place to wind down and relax, to get away from hustle and bustle of a big city, crowded subway and honking car horns.

W jego skład wchodzą trzy hotele, trzy kompleksy apartamentów, stoki narciarskie o różnej trudności, kasyno, spa i pole golfowe, świetne restauracje (szczególnie  Mountain Top Restaurant, znajdująca się na 1340 metrów nad poziomem morza z zapierającym dech w piersiach widokiem na trzy masywy górskie) oraz dobre cocktail bary. Wszystko to, składa się na zestaw idealny! Dochodzą do tego jeszcze piękne widoki, ponieważ rezort położony jest pomiędzy trzema szczytami Jijang Mountain Peak (1,345m), Baekwoon Mountain, Valley Top (1,376m) oraz Mountain Hub (1250m).

The resort consists of three hotels, three apartment blocks, many ski slopes with various difficulty levels, casino, spa and golf course, excellent restaurants, one of them with a breathtaking view as it is placed 1340 meters above the sea level and numerous cocktail bars. All of it become one, meticulously designed unity.

Brzmi jakbym reklamowała to miejsce ;) i przyznaję, trochę tak jest. Dlaczego? Otóż rezort ten, na pierwszy rzut oka niczym nie różni się od wielu jemu podobnych a jednak różnica jest – ekologia.

Sounds like an advertisement? Because that's what it is. Well, almost. I haven't been paid to advertise the place. I like it and I'm willing to spread the message about it because of their attention to environment.

High 1 jest najbardziej przyjaznym dla środowiska resortem w Korei. Przy jego budowie nie wykarczowano lasu tylko po to, aby postawić ogromny budynek w stylu Gołębiewski. Budynki zostały wkomponowane w przestrzeń z jej poszanowaniem. Planiści oraz architekci przestrzeni zadbali o to, aby przez cały rok trwał sezon na ekologię. Przez trzy sezony można tu podziwiać dzikie kwiaty charakterystyczne dla tego regionu geograficznego, które wkomponowane są one naturalnie w przestrzeń otaczającą budynki, a w zimie wszystko przykrywa pierzynka śniegu.


I think I can be safe saying that High 1 is the most environment friendly resort in the country. There was no need to uproot half of the local forest to build some concrete ugliness. All buildings were planned to mellow with their surroundings rather than to stick like a sore thumb. Landscape architects made sure that everything has been taken care of. Local flowers, characteristic for mountainous region of Gangwon are naturally incorporated into the space. 

Przy 21 km tras tłoku nie ma. Do wyboru gondola lub wyciąg krzesełkowy, jak kto woli.

High 1 Resort to 21 km tras rozciągających się na prawie 230 hektarach. Przetestowałam niemal wszystkie i muszę przyznać, polecam z czystym sumieniem. Przed wyjazdem można zaplanować pobyt w najmniejszych detalach oraz wybrać preferowane trasy. Umożliwia to interaktywna mapa, która podaje nie tylko długość tras i ich trudność, ale także kąt nachylenia. Dodatkowym atutem miejsca jest to, ze tutejsze stoki będą brały odział w Olimpiadzie 2018, wszystkie posiadają akredytację International Ski Federation.

Dla osób, które na nartach nie jeżdżą (a siedzących pod wyciągiem przy herbatce z prądem i w mojej własnej rodzinie nie brakuje) do dyspozycji pozostają nazywane pociesznie przez moją mamę "dupolotki", czyli dmuchane dętki, na których możemy poślizgać się z góry. Resort co roku organizuje, cieszące się dużą popularnością zawody w ślizganiu się na powyższych Snow Tube Race Festival.

High 1 Resort boasts twenty one kilometres of ski slopes covering a vast terrain. I personally tested most of them and I can truly recommend it. Before even getting there one can plan his/her stay in smallest details imaginable and to choose preferred rides. Thanks to interactive map, offering information about the slope's length and level of difficulty and even the angle of inclination.
All slopes are accredited with International Ski Federation and will host next Winter Olympics in 2018.
For non-skiers(and even in my family there are folks choosing to nurse a mug of hot tea with a dash of brandy rather than to speed down the slope on two wooden planks) another means of having fun have been provided. Over-sized, inflated tubes are so popular that once a year High 1 Resort even organizes a Snow Tube Race Festival.

Directions / Dojazd

W Dong Seoul Bus Terminal wsiadamy w autobus do Taebaek przez (Sin)Gohan.
Wysiadamy na przystanku w (Sin)Gohan i wsiadamy w taxi do rezortu. To okolo 15 min.
Zamiast taxi możemy użyć busika należącego do rezortu. Rozkład  Bus Schedule po Koreańsku, ale zawsze można wydrukować i zapytać miejscowego o godzinę odjazdu.

From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus bound for Taebaek via (Sin)Gohan. (Bus schedule: 30-50min intervals / Travel time: 2 hrs, 50min) Get off at (Sin)Gohan Bus Stop and take a taxi to High 1 Resort. (15min-ride) Alternatively; Take a shuttle bus from (Sin)Gohan to High 1 Resort. Bus Schedule (Korean)
